Dr. Siegal’s Cookie Diet – A Review
So who is Dr.Siegal and what is Dr. Siegal’s Cookie Diet Plan?
Dr. Sanford Siegal has operated a medical practice in Miami, Florida since 1957 (and is a separate business from the diet company). Dr. Siegal’s COOKIE DIET® is a family owned business with locations in Washington, DC and Miami.
OK, so what is it? Eat your cookies and lose weight? It sounds a little crazy to me. Apparently these are no ordinary cookies. They are a well balanced meal in cookie form. The cookies contain Dr. Siegal’s proprietary formula of all of your daily nutrients and are made with Milk, Eggs, Soy, Wheat and Non-Vegetable Protein. Each Weekly Box contains 7 Daily Bags of 6 cookies each and replaces 14 meals at a cost of about $4.20 per replaced meal when used as suggested. They will stop cravings so you stay on your diet. The Dr. Siegal’s COOKIE DIET® suggested daily caloric intake is 1,000 calories but your doctor may raise or lower the amount based on your medical history. They want you to always check with your doctor before entering into any diet program.
The Dr. Siegal’s COOKIE DIET® is a 3 step process as outlined on their site.
Step 1 – “Take Dr. Siegal’s® 28-Day Calorie Burn Rate Self-Test” *
This is an at home test that estimates your daily caloric needs.
*This text is from their site – “Before you can begin STEP 1 (taking Dr. Siegal’s® 28-Day Calorie Burn Rate Self-Test) you’ll need cookies, shake mixes, or both. If possible, purchase a one month supply (i.e. four Weekly Boxes) so that you don’t run out before the first 28 days have elapsed. If you must buy fewer than four boxes initially, remember to re-order in time to avoid running out”.
Step 2 – Use Dr. Siegal’s® Weight Loss Calculators to Set Your Goal
You sign up (for free) to enter your 28 day results into his weight calculators to determine a realistic goal weight and target date.
Step 3 – Follow Dr. Siegal’s COOKIE DIET® Example Daily Diet (or other reduced-calorie dietary plan)
You will need to purchase his book to follow his specific plan.
Basically you replace high fat snacks and unbalanced meals with low fat, high nutrition cookies, shakes and/or supplements.
